Area is defined to be the amount of space between two dimensions of an object or surface. The area of the space can be calculated by drawing the grid lines of the figure and counting the number of squares over the figure. Area calculation can be useful in many daily life practical implementations like science, architecture, construction etc.
To provide calculation accuracy different formulas have been set to calculate the area of various figures.
Area of any shape is calculated by multiplying two length dimensions. This results area to be always in squares. irrespective of whatever the unit of calculation is. Example- feet squared, metre square, inches squared, etc..
Symbol : A
S.I Unit : metre squared (m 2 ).
